“All scripture is given by inspiration of Elohiym (God), and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of Elohiym may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
1. The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible (in its original manuscript) is the inspired and inerrant Word of Elohiym. Both the TaNaKh (Old Testament) and the Brit Chadasha (New Testament) or Apostolic Writings are equally inspired by Elohiym and serve as our infallible guide in all matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (Psalms 119:160; Matthew 5:18; 2nd Timothy 3:14-17; 1st Peter 1:23-25).
2. One True YaHuWaH Elohiym
We believe in one eternal Almighty whose proper name is YaHuWaH Elohiym, who is self-existent and has revealed Himself as the Father, the Son, and the Qodesh (Set-Apart or Holy) Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 48:12-16; John 1:1-2, 14-18; John 10:30; John 16:7-15; Acts 5:3-5; Colossians 1:16).
3. The Messiah
We believe in the deity and pre-existent incarnation of YaHuW’shuwa ha’Mashiyach (Jesus Christ) of Nazareth (John 1:1-2; Acts 7:37-38); in His conception by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:26-38); in His virgin birth (Isaiah 9:6; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25); in His sinless life (Isaiah 53; 2 Cor. 5:21; Luke 1:35); in His miracles (Matthew 4:23-25); in His vicarious and atoning death on the cross (Isaiah 53; Daniel 9:24-27; Romans 3:21-31; Hebrews 9 & 10); in His bodily resurrection and His ascension to the right hand of the Father, where He makes intercession for His people (Zechariah 12:10; 14:1-21; Matthew 28:1-10; Psalms 110; Psalms 16:10; Acts 1:1-11; Hebrews 1:1-3; 7:25).
4. Man’s Creation and Fall
We believe that YaHuWaH Elohiym (God) created mankind (male & female) in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:4). But through Adam’s transgression, sin entered the world and caused mankind to fall from his original state of glory and holiness. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of Elohiym” (Romans 3:23). As a result, every man is born with a sin nature that must be redeemed in order to be saved.
5. Man’s Redemption and Rebirth
We believe that man cannot be saved (redeemed) through his own good works, but only by grace through faith in the atoning blood of YaHuW’shuwa the Messiah that was shed on Calvary’s Cross (2nd Timothy 1:9; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; Romans 5:12-21; 1st Corinthians 15:1-4). This faith causes us to experience true godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and we become “born again (spiritually regenerated) to a living hope through the resurrection of Messiah YaHuW’shuwa (Jesus) from the dead” (1st Peter 1:3; John 3:3-5; 2 Corinthians 7:10; 1st John 5:12). Consequently, we believe that YaHuW’shuwa (Jesus) is the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through faith in Him (John 14:6; John 6:40; 10:7-9; 1st John 5:11-12).
6. The Ruach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit)
We believe that when a person is truly “born again” they receive the indwelling presence of YaHuWaH Elohiym’s Holy Spirit which is known as the first fruits of the Spirit (John 20:22; Romans 8:23). The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify YaHuW’shuwa, to comfort and lead believers into all truth, to convict men of sin and righteousness and judgment, and to empower the people of YaHuWaH unto good works in Messiah (John 15:26; 16:7-16).
7. Water Baptism (Mikvah)
We believe that water baptism (mikvah) is a biblical rite that has been practiced among Yah’s people since the days of Moses (Exodus 29:4) and is considered to be one of the foundational principles of faith in Messiah (Hebrews 6:1; Acts 2:38). Mikvah (Immersion or Baptisms) are ritual baths that symbolize repentance from sin and purification from the world. This ritual was practiced by the Levitical Priesthood (Leveiticus 16:2-4) and by YaHuW’shuwa (Jesus), who is the High Priest of the Melchizedek Priesthood (Matthew 3:13-16; Hebrews 7:15-17). Receiving water baptism after accepting YaHuW’shuwa as Savior identifies us with His death, burial and resurrection (Colossians 2:9-13, Romans 6:4). It also identifies us as New Covenant priests after the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:18-28; Revelation 1:6).
8. Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift that YaHuWaH Elohiym has promised to all believers and is received subsequent to the spiritual regeneration of the new birth (Matthew3:11; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:1-8; Acts 2:33, 38-39). This baptism releases the supernatural “gifts of the Holy Spirit” to operate in a believer’s life (1st Corinthians 12:4-11). Although the initial evidence of the Baptism of the Qodesh or (Set-Apart, Holy) Spirit is the gift of “speaking in tongues” and “prophecy” (Acts 2:1-4; 10:44-46; 19:6; Mark 16:17), we embrace all the gifts of the Holy Spirit and encourage believers to know and use them as the Holy Spirit wills.
9. Sanctification
We believe that the people of YaHuWaH Elohiym are called to be holy (sanctified) just as Elohiym is holy, “for without holiness no man can see Elohiym” (Leviticus 19:2; 1st Peter 1:14-16; Hebrews 12:14). Sanctification is an ongoing and progressive work of grace that sets the believer apart unto YaHuWaH in spirit, soul and body (1st Thessalonians 5:23). Faith in Messiah’s shed blood sanctifies us in spirit (Hebrews 13:12; 2nd Thessalonians 2:13), and obedience to His Word sanctifies us in soul and body (Psalms 19:7; Matthew 17:17-20; Ephesians 5:26; Hebrews 9:13-14).
10. Validity of the Torah
We believe that Yah’s Torah (five books of Moses) has not passed away, but is the source of all wisdom that leads to salvation by faith in YaHuW’shuwa the Messiah and for instruction in righteousness (2nd Timothy 3:15-17; Deuteronomy 4:5-6). The Torah contains Yah’s laws and commandments (teachings and instructions) that guide and protect His people. Therefore, we encourage Renewed Covenant believers, both Jews and Gentiles, to study and apply Yah’s Torah as clarified through the teachings of YaHuW’shuwa and the Apostles (Matthew 5:17-19, 11:28-30; Acts 24:14; 28:23; 1st Corinthians 7:19; Revelation 14:12).
11. Israel
We believe that Israel first originated when YaHuWaH Elohiym changed Ya’aqob (Jacob’s) name to Yisra’el (Genesis 32:28). Then Yisra’el (Ya’aqob/Jacob) had 12 sons, whose offspring became a mighty nation known as “the sons of Israel” (Exodus 1:1-7). While in Egypt, Israel became a mixed multitude of Israelites and Gentiles who came out of Egyptian slavery under the blood of the Passover Lamb (Exodus 12:37-38). This mixed multitude of Israel was the “church [congregation] in the wilderness” who followed YaHuWaH together as one people under one law (Acts 7:38; Leviticus 15:15-16; Joshua 8:35). Yisra’el is Yah’s chosen people, “to whom belongs the adoption as sons and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the Torah (Law) and the temple service and the promises, whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Messiah according to the flesh” (Romans 9:4-5). Yisra’el was called out of the world to manifest Yah’s Kingdom on earth, but they rejected His voice and refused to walk in His commandments. Yisra’el is the natural olive branch that was cut off for their disobedience and scattered among the nations in the Diaspora of 70 A.D. Today, Israel is a secular nation that Yah’s has re-gathered to the Promised Land, where He swears an oath to pour out His Spirit upon them and graft them back into their own olive branch again (Ezekiel 36:7-38; Romans 11:23-24).
12. The Church
We believe that the true Ekklesia (called out ones) in the Assemblies are composed of Renewed Covenant believers who are saved by grace through faith in YaHuW’shuwa Messiah and his atoning death on the tree and have been regenerated (“born again”) by Yah’s Set-Apart Spirit (John 3:3). The Ekklesia (called out ones) began as a body of YaHuWdiy (Jewish) believers who were “called out” of the man-made oral laws of Pharisaic Judaism and into the New Covenant teachings of YaHuW’shuwa which consists of writing Yah’s Torah on the heart (Jeremiah 31:31-33; Hebrews 8:8-10). The Christian Congregation (erroneously called “Church”) are like ancient Israel, who also became a mixed multitude as Gentiles joined with Messianic YaHuW’diy (Jews) to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom among the nations. Although Renewed Covenant believers have been grafted into the commonwealth of Israel (Romans 11:17-18; Ephesians 2:11-13), YaHuW’shuwa and the apostles did not initially call them Israel, but specifically refer to them as “the one new man” or the “set apart ones” (Matthew 16:18; Acts 9:31; Ephesians 3:8-10; Revelations 2–3; 22:16). YaHuWaH established “the Ekklesia” as a sect of the YaHuW’diy (Jews) that separated themselves from the man-made oral laws of Pharisaic Judaism, but not from His written Torah (Acts 13:44-47; Acts 24:14; 28:22). As the YaHuW’diy (Jews) increasingly rejected the Gospel and Gentiles increasingly received it, the Christian Congregations became mostly Gentile (non-Jews) which was part of Yah’s plan for taking the Gospel to the nations (Acts 13:44-47; Isaiah 42:6-9; Roman 11:7-11). As the “Gentile” Church grew in numbers, it largely abandoned Yah’s Torah which was never His will. On the contrary, the Apostolic writings of the Brit Chadasha (New Testament) call both YaHuW’diy (Jew) and Gentile to embrace YaHuW’shuwa’s teaching and proper application of the Torah in their lives (Mathew 5:17-19; 11:29-30; Act 28:23; 1st Timothy 1:8; 2nd Timothy 3:14-17). When Gentiles embrace Yah’s Torah as a way of life, it is known as the “fullness of the gentiles.” In the last days, this provokes Yisra’el to jealousy which causes them to believe in YaHuW’shuwa as their Messiah, and they are grafted back into their own olive branch (Romans 11:11, 22-27). This is when the Congregation of both YaHuW’diy (Jew) and Gentile, comes into the fullness of the “one new man in Messiah” which emerges as the true “Yisra’el [congregation] of YaHuWaH Elohiym” (Galatians 6:16-17).
13. Hebraic Roots
We believe that YaHuW’shuwa Messiah and the Apostles used many of the customs within the Hebrew culture when clarifying truth in their teaching and ministry of the New Covenant. Therefore, the Hebraic model of ministry and congregational life must be understood and taught in the church in order to fully comprehend the truths found in the Apostolic writings of the Brit Chadasha (New Testament) (Acts 24:14; 28:23; 1 Corinthians 11:2).
14. The Great Commission
We believe in the Great Commission of discipling the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, YaHuWaH and the Son YaHuW’shuwa Messiah, and teaching them to observe all that YaHuW’shuwa commanded.
15. Five-Fold Ministry
